Toronto, Canada: Messe Frankfurt, Inc. announced plans to produce Décor + Design Expo & Conference ( Canada) in cooperation with the Floor Coverings Institute of Ontario (FIO), the Paint and Decorating Retailers Association (PDRA) and Walls, Windows, Furnishings Association (WWfA). Canada will cover all elements of the home and commercial decorating and design industry. The event will be complemented by a comprehensive Conference program. Providing synergies for attendees, the new show will be held with the newly repositioned Canada – Hardware + Home Improvement Expo & Conference. Both concurrent shows are scheduled to take place February 20-22, 2005 at the Toronto Congress Centre. The respective Conference Programs will begin on February 19.
Messe Frankfurt, Inc. developed the concept for the new Canada show and conference in response to the industry’s desire for a consolidated and comprehensive event in Canada. The partnering Canadian industry associations cover all segments of the Décor and Design industry for home and commercial applications from paint & decorating products, to window coverings, wall coverings and floor coverings.
A full-day conference component will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2005. The conference program will be designed to provide industry insights, trend information, networking opportunities and offer practical solutions to current industry issues. Sessions will address the needs of retailers, their staff, manufacturers, designers, interior decorators, home design & improvement professionals, workshop owners and sales agents.
The Toronto Congress Centre provides an ideal backdrop for the new event, with ample, upscale meeting space and easy accessibility for drive-in traffic. The location provides convenience for attendees, exhibitors and retailers looking to attend from Greater Toronto, surrounding areas as well as those coming in through the airport, which is only minutes away.
“We are excited about contributing towards the creation of a consolidated industry event in Canada. This type of platform has been missing in this important market for too long.”, remarked David Garland, President, PDRA. “The Congress Centre has a history of successful industry events and will offer ease of move-in and move-out along with unparalleled catering talents and meeting facilities of all sizes,” added Dennis Mascall, Executive Vice President, WWfA. “We are delighted to support and offer this new event to our members”, agreed Rosemary Schooley, Executive Director, FIO. Messe Frankfurt is a global trade show organizer with extensive experience in home furnishing events around the world, which will serve to provide additional international marketing support. “Other groups have been invited to participate in the co-located events Canada and Canada,” commented Roland Bleinroth, President, Messe Frankfurt, Inc. who has gone on record with the vision to combat trade show proliferation through cooperation and consolidation of existing events
