Friday, September 28,designated as “UA Day”
ISH North America has set aside Friday, September 29, to honor the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, its membership and the training initiatives it has brought to the industry. The cooperation with the United Association brings a unique opportunity to contractors visiting this year’s show. The day starts off with an address from United Association General President William Hite, scheduled at 10:30 a.m. at McCormick Place. Following Hite’s informative presentation attendees will eagerly crowd the ISH North America exhibit floor at McCormick Place. A number of mobile training trailers will be on display courtesy of UA Training Director Mike Arndt and his staff. These unique mobile trailers will provide the opportunity for visitors to experience the latest in training techniques. The trailers will be on hand with complete systems simulating conditions and experiences encountered in the field.
Renewable Energy Feature Area on Display
Messe Frankfurt and the BDH (Federal Industrial Association of Germany House, Energy and Environmental Technology) will be presenting a Renewable Energy Feature Area. This special pavilion will offer attendees the opportunity to explore advanced energy alternatives. This initiative provides insight into efforts being made to extend the organic life of precious and scarce resources like oil, gas, and electricity. Our responsibility for the environment, the protection and efficient use of scarce energy resources, and skyrocketing energy prices are drawing public attention to energy-efficient systems and renewable energies. It is increasingly critical that our industry be aware of the various options. Solar thermal, wood stoves, heat pumps, ventilation systems with heat recovery, and hydrogen fuel cells – a technology of the future – will be the focal points of this presentation.
New Companies Abound on Expo Floor
Returning exhibitors will be side-by-side on the show floor with more than 180 first time manufacturers and suppliers. The fourth edition of ISH North America marks a schedule change to a biennial pattern. This new schedule accommodates the industry’s demands and has resulted in a significant increase in the number and quality of exhibitors. The show has grown in popularity since it’s inception in 2002 and has become the most significant event for professionals in the Kitchen & Bath, Plumbing, PVF, HVAC and Hydronics industries.
ISH North America will be held September 28–30, 2006 at the McCormick Place, North Hall, Chicago, Illinois. ISH North America is held in conjunction with the annual conventions of the American Supply Association (ASA), the International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), the Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors - National Association, the Radiant Panel Association (RPA) and the Maple Leaf Reception of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH).
