Atlanta, GA: SPS Electric Automation America show organizers Messe Frankfurt, Inc. and Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH have announced the highly anticipated conference program for the inaugural North American event. This will be the first North American program in over twenty years to focus specifically on electric automation with a spotlight on controls, electric drives, sensors, software and motors. Following feedback from industry experts, SPS Electric Automation America has stepped up to fill a void that was not adequately served by other events. Technical paper sessions, panel discussions & professional seminars will encompass the design, standardization, use, industry direction & trends of electric automation components, products and systems including repeatable solutions within and across industries using totally integrated motion.

Several industry professionals have been looking forward to the unique program including Michael Murphy, Vice President, Sales & Marketing at Circonix Technologies LLC who comments that “after the decline in the US economy and subsequent decline in the US trade show market, especially as it applies to engineering and design for the controls industry, the SPS Automation show is the first show I have seen in many years that offers the designer, engineer and management a comprehensive look into the emerging controls technologies along with a focused, application oriented technical program that will prove valuable to anyone in the controls industry”.

The program was developed for decision makers from the electric automation sector, including electric engineering, design engineering, electric drives and controls, mechanical engineering, electronics, plant engineering, electric measurement & controls, factory automation, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, packaging, computers and networks, chemical industry and academia. “Attendees can anticipate conference sessions loaded with opportunities to absorb information covering new emerging technologies, sprinkled with practical application knowledge,” said John Mazurkiewicz, Product Market Manager of Baldor Electric.

The program consists of fourteen sessions, two panel discussions, and five seminars encompassing over 75 high-end professionals from top industry organizations such as Siemens Energy & Automation, Phoenix Contact, Inc., Beckhoff Automation LLC, Texas Instruments, B&R Industrial Automation and Schneider Electric.

Each of the fourteen sessions is comprised of three to seven individual 30-minute presentations on different topics. Some of the overall session topics include Industrial Controls, Networks & Industrial Communications, Intelligent Motion Systems, Electric Drives, Machine & Motion Control Software, and Precision Industrial Sensors.

A highlight of the conference will be the Keynote Address by Jim Pinto, Founder (formerly President & CEO) of Action Instruments, Technology Futurist, Speaker, Writer, Industrial Automation Commentator, Analyst, and Consultant. Jim's presentation “Automation Unplugged – Global Markets in the New Century” will focus on technology futures in electric controls, marketing, and global business.

“For those of us heavily involved in PLC's, motion, HMI, networking and industrial automation, SPS America is like a breath of fresh air.  So many shows have diversified in order to grow, that they no longer serve anyone well.  With automation the key to keeping America strong, it is great to have a show that is keyed on automation,” Thomas B. Bullock, President of Bull's Eye Research, Inc.

The inaugural edition of SPS Electric Automation America Exhibition and Conference will be held May 23-26, 2005 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont (Chicago), IL. Further information can be obtained online at www.ea-america.com.
