welcomes 157 exhibitors from 18 countries

Highly-qualified buyers surpass expectations and meet exhibitors’ approval

Innovation Asia shows strong results and positive outlook for future of co-located event

The first edition of Texworld USA on July 11 – 13, 2006 in New York was considered a success by buyers, exhibitors and show management.  The show answered a call by the industry to provide an international business platform offering a wide array of high creativity fabrics with an excellent price / quality relationship.  Some of the best companies in this global marketplace showcased fabrics of innovative structures, inspiring materials and surprising color palettes.  With more than 1,900 highly qualified buyers in attendance, the industry’s expectation for a trade show in New York providing this quality and value offer was solidly met.  In addition to the strong premiere of Texworld USA, Innovation Asia’s results exceeded their expectations.  Lenzing, the founder of Innovation Asia, is excited about the future of these co-located events.

Qualified buyers with purchasing authority
The qualification process enforced by Messe Frankfurt ensured that the attendees at Texworld USA were legitimate buyers or designers.  Each attendee registration form was thoroughly reviewed and the appropriate credentials confirmed.  This ensured that the audience was exactly the type of attendee that the exhibitors were looking to address.  Featured product groups at Texworld USA included cotton, denim, embroidery, fibers, functional fabrics, knitted, lace, linen, prints, silk, wool and accessories.

Some of the world’s most prominent labels attended the premiere of Texworld USA and the overwhelming satisfaction of the exhibitors in seeing so many legitimate industry professionals was noted.

In addition to the diligent qualification of buyers, each exhibitor was reviewed to ensure that they were all applicable to the severe brand qualifications set forth to ensure the most effective mix of buyers and sellers possible.  These featured exhibitors are well selected thanks to Messe Frankfurt’s expertise and market knowledge, including an excellent network with the textile industry around the world.

Convenience of Penn Plaza Pav. & Hotel Pennsylvania recognized
Although exhibits were spread out over two connecting floors, the flow and consistency of traffic was steady.  A very accessible Midtown location ensured that the time-sensitive attendees were able to be productive in their visit to the show.

Trend seminars well received
In addition to the 157 exhibitors, Texworld USA also featured several trend presentations that were very well received by the attending buyers and designers.  Cinzia Black, Director of Special Projects for Global Color Research Ltd., provided a very interested group of attendees an engaging discussion on “Autumn/Winter 2007-08: Trends in Colors, Textures, Prints and Patterns in Fashion.”  In addition, Lenzing sponsored a presentation created by David Wolfe, Creative Director at Doneger and given by Jamie Ross, Creative Director at Doneger, on trends for the Fall / Winter 2007 – “A Season of Style and Sensibility.”

Innovation Asia successful
Innovation Asia continues to provide great opportunities to some their exclusive exhibitors.  According to Dr. Dieter Eichinger, Global Marketing Director from Lenzing, “The first joint event was a great success. This is prooved by a 50 percent increase of Lenzing customers and a 100 percent increase of attendees compared to the last event of Innovation Asia.

Innovation Asia used to be one of the most successful apparel fabric shows in New York in the last years. The last event organized by Lenzing in January 2006 attracted 24 exhibitors and around 800 trade buyers from the textile trading sector and important brand companies. An increasing number of Lenzing customers demanded to take part in the event. This was the ideal chance to found Texworld USA and to continue the brand Innovation Asia together with a professional partner.  This way Lenzing is able to establish its brand names in the US. At the same time Lenzing offers a professional platform for its customers to place their products successfully in the US market."

Exhibitor Quotes

Varun Wadhawan, Head Designer, Beximco Textiles Ltd., Bangladesh:  “Our objective was to meet a few existing customers as well as to meet a few new quality brands.  The show overall was good for Beximco because we were able to meet several prominent brands in the industry such as J.C. Penney, Perry Ellis and Urban Outfitters.   Texworld USA is an important event and we feel it will continue to grow.”

Roger Xin, Operations Manager, Camin Textile Ltd., China: “We have participated in Texworld Paris and Interstoff Asia for more than 5 years.  We decided to exhibit in Texworld USA to broaden our customer base and meet new customers in America.  We found the show to be a good place to communicate with existing customers like Calvin Klein and Max Studio and show them our new lines.  It was also a good place to meet new decision-makers from quality brands.  We will definitely return.”

Charlene Hsih, Managing Director, Rorica Textile Co., Ltd., Taiwan: “The first Texworld USA was better than expected.  We were able to secure new business in excess of $1 M.”

Richard Kim, President, Hi-Top & Zentex, Korea: “The reaction from attendees here at Texworld USA has been great.  We have met so many interested fabric apparel buyers—lots more than expected.  We plan to exhibit again in the future.”

Venkatesh Shekar, Vice President Marketing, JCT Ltd., India: “Texworld USA resulted in more business than we anticipated.  We have more product lines to show and we plan to increase our space for the next event.”

Peter Betsche, CEO, Polymas PT, Indonesia: “Texworld USA is positioned at the right time and the right location.  We thought it was better then the Sourcing event at Magic and the old IFFE show.”

New York – the place to be next January
Once again, on January 23 – 25, 2007, the apparel fabrics industry will focus their attention on New York.  Messe Frankfurt and their partners encourage suppliers and buyers to participate in the second edition of this unique, exciting event.   The Texworld USA and Innovation Asia Winter 2007 edition will take place at the Penn Plaza Pavilion and the Hotel Pennsylvania.
