Key Industry Publications and Organizations to Support Paperworld USA

The second edition of Paperworld USA will take place in Miami, Florida at the Miami Beach Convention Center from November 8-10, 2006. The trade show is produced in partnership by Messe Frankfurt, Inc., School, Home, & Office Products Association (SHOPA) and PROPAPER (the national office products trade association of Spain). The show focuses on four product categories: School, Home, & Office Products; Imaging; Scriptum; and Creative.

A number of key brand names including 3M, U.S. Stamp & Sign, Boise Paper, Kittrich Corporation, E.S. Robbins Office Products, Trends International, Z-International,  Pioneer Photo Albums, Better Office Products, Sandylion, Norcom, and MeadWestvaco, to name a few, have already signed up for exhibition space at this year’s show. This event also has plans to attract a variety of new exhibitors providing buyers with additional options.

Paperworld USA is building on the success of its inaugural event last November in Las Vegas, which welcomed 388 exhibiting manufacturers from 30 countries and over 4,200 visitors from 72 countries. For the 2006 event, show organizer, Messe Frankfurt, Inc. plans to implement many new ideas to add value and excitement as the trade show expands. The exhibit floor will feature several interactive hands-on demonstrations and special feature areas.

One goal for Paperworld USA is to continue to increase its participation of key buyers with an increased marketing effort, establishing new industry partnerships, creating collaborative marketing promotions, and by offering more added value to both the visitors and exhibitors. Paperworld USA hosts a special Red Carpet Club registration process for exhibitor’s top clients, providing complete VIP treatment with full service attention to better accommodate the buyers needs.

Paperworld USA 2005 held many valuable seminars for the resellers. “As a new retailer, the two seminars I attended either validated my business plan or provided valuable information,” stated Julie Dutra, owner of Scribbles in the Sand Stationers. To provide value for resellers and other industry executives, Paperworld USA plans to offer more detailed and in-depth seminar presentations and hands-on workshops.

New this year, The Craft and Hobby Association and Paperworld USA will be working together on the trade show’s Creative seminar tracks. Steven Z. Berger, Chief Executive Officer, CHA stated, ²I am extremely pleased that CHA will be part of this year’s Paperworld USA. CHA has a long history of bringing value added educational programs to our members through our CHA Winter Shows, and now our new CHA Summer Show. We are delighted to offer attendees to Paperworld USA the opportunity to participate in our hands-on workshops, as well as learn from an enormously informative research seminar on the findings of our latest CHA Attitude & Usage Study. We recently measured the size of the crafts industry at a record $30.6 (U.S.) billion for annual retail sales and confirmed that 75% of households across America contain at least one member who has ever crafted. I encourage all Paperworld USA visitors to attend these programs. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed. For more information about CHA, visit our website at www.craftandhobby.org

In addition, several key industry publications and organizations such as; DSN Retailing Today, Greetings etc., OfficeDealer, Party and Paper Retailer, OPI, La Papeleria de Hoy, Retail Merchandiser, United Stationers, NAMTA and the Craft and Hobby Association will work directly with Paperworld USA in various capacities to help develop the educational seminars with top speakers and current topics of interest for their respective industries and or assist in promoting the event to their respective groups.

This year Paperworld USA anticipates welcoming additional European and Latin American manufacturers as well as the key U.S. brands that are targeted for participation. With the global resources of Messe Frankfurt, Paperworld USA is positioned to reach many new sources of manufacturers and bring many new and exciting product offerings to the trade show. Many of these new products will be featured in the show’s New Product Showcase area on the exhibit floor.
Paperworld USA has peeked interest from several national pavilions such as Spain, which plans to increase its pavilion by over 60% from 2005, Italy, Germany, Poland, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, India, Turkey, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, in addition to the many individual international manufacturers taking part in this year’s show.
Paloma Marugan, Director, ICEX, Trade Commission of Spain stated, “We believe that Paperworld USA has great potential. In a market as competitive and interesting as that of the United States, this trade show offers an excellent opportunity for companies from Europe who want to have first-hand exposure to U.S. buyers as well as those from Central and South America.”

Paperworld USA was formed to provide a stronger networking platform for buyers and sellers in North and South America. The former international SHOPA SHOW provided the base for the newly created Paperworld USA to compliment the cross-merchandising opportunities with the additional product categories of Creative, Scriptum and Imaging.  The support of the Spanish school and office products association, ProPaper, and the world’s leading paper and office products show, Paperworld Frankfurt, provided additional ingredients to the new show formula. The collaboration among the partners Messe Frankfurt, Inc., SHOPA and ProPaper succeeded in creating the most comprehensive industry platform for the North and South American market place.
